Wild Herring Hat is knit using basic brioche knitting techniques. This makes the hat is reversible. The double thickness from the brioche stitches is extra warm to wear.

Needle A (gauge needle): US 6 (4.00 mm) or size needed to obtain gauge, 16” circular needle and set of dpns.

The hat is made reversible through brioche knitting techniques. I recommend Nancy Marchant’s books and online videos about brioche knitting.
When working in the round, drop the MC in the back of work and the CC in the front to maintain stitch integrity between rows.
All stitch counts include the yarn over and its partner stitch as a single stitch.
