Hello :) are you asking about a specific brand or more like the composition?
If we are talking about the former, I think it would differ a lot from wherever you are from. If you are from an european country, Id suggest Drops, Katia and Mondial. You can find different brands and yarns on big sites as Hobbii.
If you are talking abount different kinds of yarn, I personally prefer working with natural yarns (wool, cotton, alpaca...), even if more expensive: the products last longer and are more sustainable. I prefer working on sweaters/hats during the colder months, so right now Id suggest a nice mohair (maybe paired and worked together with a soft wool) for a cozy feel, or a chunky merino wool which will keep you warm all winter long.
Hope you find inspiration :)

Hiiii! Im fairly new to knitting and crocheting, but I second Everias post that natural yarns feel very nice! I am currently using cotton merino for my summer tops, and a blend of cotton/linen for my summer pullovers. Recycled cotton is also surprisingly good and not as rough as imagined. I use it for beachwear stuff~~

i prefer natural yarns - 100% wool or pure animal fiber - of course, some wools are itchier than others, so you have your pick like merino, BFL, yak, cashmere, etc.

I prefer silky yarn because its easier to thread. Experimenting with hobbi yarn now since Ive seen its so popular.

I have been wanting to knit with silk for awhile! Could I ask what happens when you block silk - does it tend to shrink or change shape?  Post time 2024-11-19 09:55

100% wool is the best choice in my opinion!

I’m boring and love 100% cotton, because it’s easy to work with, easy on my fingers even for long-term projects, and just generally wears and lasts extremely well, even with machine washing.

I prefer wool or wool blends. I feel like I can’t get even tension with cotton or flax. Right now I’m knitting a blouse in Isager Silk mohair and it’s quite lovely!
