HS127 CHRISTMAS SPIRITS Done on Perforated Paper
BEFORE YOU START
Read all directions before beginning. Stitch project exactly as placed on chart, being sure to leave unstitched rows between pieces as shown, so that all will fit. Use 3 strands for crosstitches. Be sure to identify all colors before you begin stitching. When correcting stitches, remove carefully. Turn perforated paper and chart as you stitch if necessary so that symbols read correctly and all "Xs" cross in the same direction when pieces are cut apart and assembled. Complete all stitching before cutting out.

1 - 9" x 12" SHEET OF RED, ECRU AND BROWN PERFORATED PAPER
4 - 36" LENGTHS OF ECRU CANDLEWICK FLOSS OR SIMILAR MATERIAL FOR BEARD OF EACH

SPIRIT OF FRIENDSHIP STITCH ON BROWN PERFORATED PAPER
FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Using white glue, glue back edges of body together, forming a tube, overlapping slightly.
Allow to dry.
2. Using 4 strands of candlewick floss together, form loops and place under nose to make mustache and beard. Glue in place. Allow to

4. Place hat slightly inside top of tube. Glue in place.
5. Place band around top of tube as a decorative finish to hat and top of tube. Edges should overlap at center back. Glue in place.
6. To make a tassel, cut approximately 50 - 1" lengths of dark gold floss. Tie in center with matching floss. Glue to point of hat. Fold top of hat softly over to back. Glue to back of head to secure.

FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Using white glue, glue back edges of body together, forming a tube, overlapping slightly. Allow to dry.
2. Using single strands of candlewick floss, form as many mustache and beard loops as desired. Glue in place. Allow to dry.
3. Fold hat - do not crease. Match and glue edges of decorative bands together, overlapping slightly. Allow to dry.
4. Place hat slightly inside top of tube. Glue in place.
5. Place band around top of tube as a decorative finish to hat and top of tube. Edges should overlap at center back. Glue in place.
SPIRIT OF LOVE STITCH ON ECRU PERFORATED PAPER
FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Using white glue, glue back edges of body together, forming a tube, overlapping slightly. Allow to dry.
2. To make beard, cut enough 1" lengths of candelwick floss to fill beard area (approximately 50). Cut 4 - 4" lengths of floss, tie a knot in the center. Glue to top of beard. Trim to desired length.
3. Fold hat - do not crease. Match decorative bands together. Overlap edges slightly and glue. Allow to dry.
4. Place hat slightly inside top of tube. Glue in place.
5. Place band around top of the tube as a decorative finish to hat and top of tube. Edges should overlap at center back. Glue in place.
