Who here likes to stitch samplers? What kind do you like and what designers to you like best?
I thought we could have an interesting discussion on the topic of samplers. :)  Thank you

I'm assuming you mean sampler style cross stitch patterns? I've done one from stitchynova which was hirigana and quite pretty when I was done. She has another one in the same style which I should stitch at some point. I love looking at samplers and dream of stitching some but end up working on smaller, quicker projects. I do want to stitch Little Alien Schoolgirl at some point, perhaps this year?

Oh I haven't heard of the Little Alien Schoolgirl I will have to go look it up. The appeal of small projects to get quick finishes is certainly true.  Details Reply Post time 2025-2-8 08:06

Hi original poster.  I like stitching single colour samplers.  Very relaxing to stitch.

Not sure why no-one knows what samplers means.  They were practically the origin of cross stitch pieces.

Yes I really enjoy one colour ones and so nice not to keep changing thread colours. There are so many lovely ones I wish I could stitch faster.  Details Reply Post time 2025-2-8 08:03
Oh, okay. Well please forgive my ignorance, I just basically don't do cross stitch. Maybe including it in the OP would make sense. I'm here enjoying other fiber arts such as knitting, crochet, nalbin  Details Reply Post time 2025-1-28 23:29

I'm sorry for the confusion. Yes I meant needlework samplers - often cross stitch however many more complicated ones use a variety of stiches not just cross stitch. How I phrased it would have been obvious to those that do enjoy stitching them so I wasn't thinking about confusing others as thought they'd just scroll past but I do apologize for causing confusion.
