Hi everyone! After panic crafting for the whole of December last year I’m determined to be more organised with homemade gifts in 2025.
So far, I have planned:
- Rybka Pouch knitting pattern
- Cool Stitches craft case sewing pattern

but would love some more inspiration for small-ish gifts :)

Hi! I am very fond of hats when it comes to gifting. It is useful, quite fast to make, does not use up a huge amount of yarn (1-2 skeins at most) so there's no room for surprises. There are so many options and designs available, suits men, women, children. Not too intimate, not too personal.
I just finished a huge bed cover, and calculting the amount of yarn needed was an absolute nightmare (had to re-order twice and am left with a bunch extra yarn). 0/10 would do it again.

When it come to people I don't know much (say, acquaintances rather than friends) I may make pillow cases, amigurumi or sometimes coasters (but not everyone likes the way they look). Brooches, bracelets, necklaces, or bookmarks.

Hello! Your gifts look so cool, I'd love to be one of your friends and receive one of these!
I mostly crochet, so in previous years I made Christmas decorations (personalized baubles, reindeers, gnomes and so on), hats and socks.
I see you know how to knit and sew, so I'd suggest the Marie Purse by petite knit that seems versatile and cute.
Maybe some socks? There are hundreds of pattern and if you live in colder climate they are always useful. I'm currently in love with the Gingerbread Socks by Tonje Haugli (unfortunately knitters on the site said it was a too difficult project for a beginner such as myself...)
Hope you find something great to craft!

mittens are such a good idea!! socks are still scary to me as a beginner knitter but I’ve got time to push myself before christmas :)

Amazing! Hats are such a good shout, I am a beginner knitter though so the decreasing at the top (and needing to use magic loop) scares me a bit!
