pin vs credit

Can somebody kindly explain the relations between pins and credits?

For example, if I helped to resolve a bounty for 3000 pin award, it was approved by mods and reported, how come I don't see any changes in the amount of credits I have?
Please help!

Pins are money. They used to be called gold coins. You use them to purchase patterns.

Credits determine your user level. credits are calculated with the equation: Credits= (#posts x .1) + (#threads x .26) + (#digests x 5) + (online time / 1.5)

This means for every 4 threads you post, you will get 1 credit increase towards the next user level.
Post more patterns --> increase your credits --> increase your user level

Pins are your "currency" for patterns

Credits is your level for the hourly bonus

@ChrisPBacon: What about comments that I make on people's reaction to my previous posts, or on other people's posts (+10) - how many credits and how fast do they bring?

Hi!

Every time you post, (whether it's answering to your own thread or someone else's doesn't make any difference) will give you 10 Pin (except if you post more than once every minute).
And every post will also contribute to your Credits (one post gives you 0.1 credit approximately).

Leveling up will happen naturally as you participate actively in the forum. Reaching level DIY.2 matters as it will allow you to interact better with other members (such as sending urestricted DMs). Reaching upper levels will allow you to ask for higher prices when you share patterns for instance (but the higher the price, the lower the downloads...)

Thank you, this really cleared things up for me! (I would rate your comment if I could but I'm not at the minimum level for rating posts yet)
