How to rate posts/comments??

Hi. So I know I've posted a few help posts in this area recently. And I've noticed that some of you have rated my post/comment and this has given me pins (thank you to anyone who did). So I'm guessing rating transfers pins to the other user - correct me if I'm wrong. (I'm very new to this site, as I'm sure you can tell by now).

Now, I'm wondering how you guys rated the post/comment. I looked at others' posts and comments but cannot see a place where it says 'rate'.

If anyone has any insights, I would love to know. Preferably a step by step instruction or series of pictures showing what to do. I'm normally quite a tech savvy person, but this baffles me. I'm sure I'm just missing something.

Maybe you Need to be Level 1 !

It's middle bottom of the first post on every thread and bottom right of every post after that.  Not sure how anyone can miss it to be honest.  It says Rate.

Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like I have a 'rate' button. I'm wondering if it could be because I have only a few credits? Here's what I see:

As ChrisPBacon described above, the three buttons along the bottom are where it should be. But it's not there.

I guess I'll just have to collect some more credits.

Thank you for the detailed explanation! I replied to another user below who had also tried to explain this, but it seems like the button is not there for me. I think its probably because I don't have that many credits (only 14). I guess I'll just have to get some more before I can rate things.

Have you looked at the right hand side at the bottom of the post?  This is not a blue button just black text.

I finally managed to reach level 1! Thanks to everyone for your help with this. The rate button is right where you said, at the bottom of the post or comment.
