Patterns are super fun, but I think getting new yarn is more exciting because you get to almost puzzle together what you want to make with it!

I'm more excited about patterns. I substitue the recommended yarn pretty often anyway, especially since yarn & supplies got sinfully expensive.

It's hard to say for sure. Patterns are very important to me. If I don't like the pattern, I won't make the item. Even from the best yarn. Even if I get paid for it.
But the yarn is important too. Honestly, when I walk through the supermarket and see a shelf with yarn... I can't help but touch it and squeeze it in my hands.
