Reasons why patterns would take a longer time to be approved

Moderators are GOATs btw!!!

But do you know any other reasons why a pattern you posted take long to be approved by moderators?

I noticed like patterns in other languages taking a longer time to be approved or duplicate patterns/patterns with issues

For example I had posted a pattern (file straight from Etsy) recently and it hasn't gotten approved in three-four days (friday to monday) and that made me wonder if weekends are more of an 'rest time' for moderators etc.

(Ik Moderators work around the clock improving everything, which is a tremendous effort btw:)!!! Just curiousity)

All the moderators are volunteers.
We do this besides our normal daily work/ Family. So we can not always be online.
Some languages we need some help for from members.
Sometimes there are some personal data on the patterns we have to remove.
Not all the moderators are able to remove this data. And the moderators who can are not always available.
We try to do our best but sometimes it takes some time.;-))

Big conspirancy?

The most recent example is "Mostly Ghostly Crafts - Moonbeam the Lunar Moth  ...

For every file I download, I have written down the source from which it comes (torrent, pindiy or similar).

Many of the pindiy files I have collected so far no longer exist.
This is probably because until 2-3 years ago it was still possible to delete an account and the uploaded files/content disappeared with it.
This is just a guess, but it sounds plausible to me.
Who else would simply delete a number of patterns?

I have a slightly different question.
Some patterns have been removed from the site. And there are quite a few of them. I know for sure that this is so, because I used to come across them when searching. Now "Sorry, no results found".
One of these patterns was recently uploaded by someone again. It was being moderated for almost a week. But they still added it.
I am interested in this question, because I have some of these patterns. They were not downloaded, they were bought from the seller absolutely legally. Should they be uploaded here? Or is there some blacklist of designers or some other reason why these patterns are undesirable here?

No big conspirancy, it's usally a quality issue, or a pullout from a mag. Can you give examples?  Post time 2025-5-20 21:26

Probably because they have their life outside of this site... they have their work etc. Besides, they need to check each pattern thoroughly to make sure the pattern is original and complete, and that takes time. For other languages, I think it's because there's a limited amount of moderators that's able to read and check the pattern, that's why it takes more time to be approved.

Hey:) I'm aware they have a life outside this site, which is why I ensured to  highlight several times in the post so persons don't misunderstand:) I just was wondering about any additional reasons other than what was mentioned on the post (language/faulty patterns) incase there were other reasons on the site before (holiday etc.)

I noticed all the patterns weren't getting appoved during that time (a way longer time than usual) and was just curious. The post didn't mean to undermine moderators effort. Thank you for your response:)

The most recent example is "Mostly Ghostly Crafts - Moonbeam the Lunar Moth Cat". I downloaded it from this site. I even have it in iBooks. Then this pattern disappeared from the site. If I click on it in my iBooks I get a 404 error. A couple of weeks ago someone uploaded it again. Now it's back here.

Oke, i think you mean the bounty section.

https://www.pindiy.com/forum-21-1.html

Here you can post a request.
If you are in search of a pattern and you can't find it on the site, you can post a request.
You have to put a reward on it with a minimum of 500 pin.
If someone upload the pattern you are looking for and the moderator approved it, that member will get the 500 pin reward and you get the link to the pattern
After being uploaded and approved, the bounty post will be send to recycle.
The pattern will stay on the site.

I find that if you include all the necessary information, the patterns get approved and posted pretty quickly! When I forget to add the designer name or something like that, then it will take a longer time because they have to go find it themselves. So take the time to make sure all your information is correct and everyone has a better time!
