Xstitch as knitted colorwork

Just to make the Painting Fairy task more fun, do you think it could be possible to do a Xstitch pattern into a knitted, IDK, sweater or something? It would be gorgeous, but it would probably take a very skilled hand and a LOT of time and skeins! LOL

I managed to use cross stitch pattern into knitted/crochet blanket. Just need to be careful with size

You need to be careful with gauge. And be prepared with a lot of loose ends !?
