Embroidery with sewing thread

I've been getting into embroidery lately but I only have sewing thread rn. What are the pros and cons?

Well to start off with Dmc and Anchor are usually the choice for hand embroidery. The floss is easily divided for the amount of strands and to achieve the thickness you want.
Regular Sewing Thread can be used also. There are various types available cotton, rayon,silk etc. Sewing thread usually cannot be divided like embroidery thread. To use this thread it would be used for decorative stitching not to fill in a whole area. Stem stitch, backstitch, pin stitch, etc. I was told and have read that a 60 weight thread is good to use.
There is a lot of great information on the Internet by some of the top designers on techniques and supplies used just search for them by name and they provide excellent guides to get you started.  Look for the ones you like here on the forum and go to their website for more information.
Also look into Crazy Quilting Stitches. Some of those books have been posted here. Lots of basic and decorative stitching.
