It's your ISP in Canada thats blocking the site and thats why it will only work with a VPN.

I was in Canada last year and doing a bit of torrenting (I forget who the isp was) and I got banned for a week.  Looks like it's a Canadian thing- Big Brother is watching you.

Heres what Google told me

AI Overview

Canadian ISPs block some sites primarily to comply with court orders that compel them to block access to websites hosting pirated content, particularly those that distribute copyrighted material like movies, TV shows, and sports. These blocking orders are typically issued by the Federal Court and are a tool for copyright holders to protect their intellectual property from offshore pirates. While less common in Canada than in other countries, other reasons for blocking could include a future regulatory mandate from the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC)
.
Primary reason: Court-ordered copyright protection
  • Court orders:
Canadian courts can issue blocking orders that require ISPs to block their customers from accessing specific websites.
  • Copyright infringement:
The most common reason for these orders is to combat online piracy. Content owners, such as Bell Media and Rogers, have successfully sued to have pirate sites, which provide unauthorized streaming of their content, blocked.
  • Enforcing rights:
The blocking orders are seen by copyright holders as a way to enforce their rights against websites that are often located in jurisdictions where it is difficult to take legal action.

Other potential reasons

  • Future CRTC regulations:
There have been discussions about the CRTC creating a mechanism to recommend blocking of certain sites, which would require ISPs to comply.
  • Other forms of blocking:
While not the primary reason for blocking specific sites, ISPs use technologies like DNS filtering or deep packet inspection to manage and control internet traffic.

How it works

  • ISP compliance:
ISPs are compelled by law to block access to the sites specified in a court order.
  • Method:
The blocking is typically done using technical methods like firewalls or IP-based blocking.
  • Limited scope:
These orders are usually narrowly tailored to block specific infringing websites, not the entire internet.

If you cannot access this website, how can you post your messages here?

I can only use the site if i use a VPN on my computer.  If I don't it doesn't work.  Unfortuntely, since I cannot put a VPN on my phone I cannot see the site ever.  I've tried other computers and asked other people with their phones, no one here can access the site.
