More About This Issue Usually at this time of year, we’re anticipating a fresh new year of sewing challenges. Funnily enough, this year feels different. Mentally and emotionally, we’re drained, our sewing spaces reflect that and our finished lately have been few and far between. But rather than beat ourselves up over it, we’re trying to be kind to ourselves … because, especially after the chaos of 2020 … everything’s better with kindness.
In this issue, we discuss how to be kind quilters, being kind to ourselves, supporting creative businesses, and giving quilty gifts are just a few of the ideas. We MEET our brand-new columnist Wendy Wild from The Next Stitch, giving you the low-down on the latest fabric trends with her new cloth confidential column; the talented Mandy Murray from Sew Quirky; and FPP extraordinaire Ingrid Atteneder of Joe, June & Mae. We get MOTIVATED to develop our own design aesthetic and learn how to plan a big quilt project or be inspired to start hand piecing with our stunning gallery. Get tips and tricks for binding modern quilts and read about using machine embroidery for quilting with Kate Toney. We MAKE huge hexies, the cutest bee cushion, or our walk the dog tote bag, with projects for ten modern quilt patterns included. There’s something for everyone in this issue!
