Collecting Bounties

I posted a pattern that was listed in the Bounty section. After it was approved, I tried to claim the Bounty by posting the link to the Bounty and the link to the Pattern in the Report Solved Bounty Here in the Forum Bulletin section. I then received this message:

"You seem to be confused about how the bounty area works.  You uploaded the pattern that was requested. In order for me to give you the reward, you need to reply to the bounty thread. This has been reported by the moderator when the pattern was approved so it isn't necessary for you to report it as well. Just reply to the bounty thread:

https://www.pindiy.com/thread-xxxxxxx-x-x.html"

That is correct, I am very confused. Can someone explain the procedure to me, please.
