The Penny dress features a classic design with special details. This charming shirtdress has a fitted bodice, with traditional shirt details like a collar stand, button placket, and shoulder yoke.

• Version 1 features a fitted waistband and full set-in sleeves that complement a gathered skirt.
  

• Version 2 has a sleeveless bodice, a semi-circle skirt, and an overlapping gathered waist belt.
  

Skill Level: Intermediate
Main Fabric: Lightweight to medium-weight woven fabrics such as cotton voile, lawn, shirting, poplin, broadcloth, and linen.
Lining Fabric: 1/4 yard (0.2 meters) of lightweight woven fabrics such as cotton voile, lawn, or polyester in 45 or 60” (114 / 152 cm) widths.
Supplies: All-purpose polyester thread, sewing machine needle, hand-sewing needle, point turner, lightweight fusible interfacing (see size chart). Version 1: seven 5/8” (1.6 cm) buttons, one 1/4” (0.63 cm) button, three size 3 sew on snaps. Version 2: four 5/8” (1.6 cm) buttons, one 1/4” (0.63 cm) button, seven size 3 sew on snaps.
