[Tips Discussion] Tent Stitch

I have actually been thinking a lot about tent stitching... especially in terms of cutting down on the time to complete a project... I have also heard that it can "warp" the fabric, or cause it to pull to one side (unless you are doing the basket-weave version).  Although, I have also heard, that you can fix the tension problem when you frame it...

This is a perfect.  I was really confused about the different ways to do a tent stitch as I was only able to find written information about how it was to be done (I'm sure some more digging would have given a similar outcome but stumbling across this is even better)  I plan on using this on my next HAED piece as the current one I am working on is 1 over 1 full x's and is taking a really long time.

How interesting. I just saw a pattern with the entire background done with this type of stitch. Thanks for sharing the tip.

Thank you for explaining the difference as I've always just thought this was a half stitch. Should you use more thread to fill the spot? For example, if it's 2 threads should you use 3? To make it thicker and fill the space?
