The attached PDF are the instructions for finishing a needleminder that came with a chart by Wild Heart Designs called Flower of Courage (an exclusive kit from Elegant Stitch years ago)

what kind of magnets do they put in these as I bought ones from a craft section in a shop in my home town and they dont work at all. sending the needles flying no matter what way I put the magnet on

You can use pretty much anything for the top portion of the needleminder (provided it isn't too big/heavy), but neodymium magnets and E6000 or Gorilla Glue are key.

I buy pins from a well-known amusement park. I take the pin off the back and use gorilla glue to stick the magnet in the back. Use a magnet that is just smaller than a dime.

Thanks for sharing. I use rare earth magnets glued to the back of pins (with the post removed) as needle minders. They work great!
