I thought of doing it as I want to do a large project similar to yours and my eyes would fail me at one point Im sure :lol, if it works well Ill let you know =]

Youve done really a very nice choise; this pattern is also on my wishlist, but first Ive to finish my other WIPs :)
Like some others before I would suggest to draw a grid on your fabric. I promise you that it is much more comfortable to stitch on!
Very nice start! Good luck to you project, I hope to see some progress soon :loveliness:
