Why was my post deleted?

This is a very confusing thread.  There are unanswered legitimate questions (unless the questioner got a PM from the moderator, but that wouldn't help the general membership) sprinkled in among "thank you for this information" statements.

Hi, My post was at first approved and some time later was deleted. The reason for deleting was "Not original, from repaint"
I can help it,that it is not a repaint from an Original,because it has never been published that way.Nothing I can do about it.
The pattern was made by PDF from a drawing of Marjolein Bastin.They were FREEBIES.
Some how I like to share this beautiful patterns with others here.How I can I place them here? I hope someone will answer this question,because I see other questions here in this topic,which are not answered at all.Shame!!!

Mystique--This is probably a stupid question, lol (maybe I should change my screen name to queenofstupidquestion) but how am I to know if I possibly am uploading a duplicate?  I don't have time to look thru every pattern here.  I have several I would be willing to share, but I have no idea if they have been already uploaded.
Also, which is better?  jpg or pdf?  I personally don't like jpg files for downloading, not exactly clear for printing out and using!
