Kits or patterns?

Do you prefer buying a kit and working it or working from a pattern? I think both are the same cost in the long run as normally I wont use an entire skein that I buy and now I have over 950 skeins of floss!! Not much fabric though.

if you have a lot of rest of thread from kits, its better just buy a pattern than kits:):)

I pick patterns over kits, too!

patterns normally do, but once I made kits, the kits are very comfortable because it is all fabric, needle, thread, design, etc.

I prefer patterns, as I have most of the DMC and Anchor colours and it also means I can choose my own fabric.

prefer patterns, so I can choose my fabric and floss

I think part of the the fun is getting everything ready to start stitching so I prefer patterns. The only time I do kits these days is if someone buys me one. This also gives me spare pennies to buy things like new frames, needles, and goodies as I can often kit them up much cheaper.

I also prefer patterns, so that I can choose my fabric and threads. Ive stitched a few kits, though.
