You could consider doing a tent stitch on a smaller count fabric.  I know I have done this with HAED patterns in the past.

evenweave is wonderful to work on, it's so soft and I love the look of 1 over 1 when doing faces, give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

don't worry about being fast speed only comes with Experience and the most important task is enjoyment for if we were all too fast I don't think we would enjoy it as much

Yes I agree!! Pictures of progress eases your mind that the end is nearing!  LOL

Thank you all for your ideas about taking pics while working on a project. I will definitely be using my camera more!  I am just starting to work on linen and my eyes are getting worse. I have to use reading glasses and a magnifying glass sometimes....so sad!
