Does anyone find they get lots of knots in specific types of floss?
I have a kit called frogpile and I seem to always be getting knots in the floss.
I am not sure what brand of floss it is as it just came in the kit but its very frustrating... any tips of how to stop this and also if people find one brand of floss better than others?
any suggestions are much appreciated
thanks:D

I always untwist my threads as I am stitching, every stitch I give the needle a turn.   There are some flosses that just love to knot up.    You can always find the DMC floss number alternative and use it instead!

yeah i was thinking that but since i have already started im not sure if the colours would match up. But i think in future if i have a kit i will just get my own stuff and use threads elsewhere  Post time 2013-1-25 05:26

I like DMC, Crescent always seems to be knotty for me but I haven't heard that from other stitchers.

I always check the twists in the floss every couple of stitches and sometimes if it is a different floss from DMC I have to use shorter lengths to avoid knotting

I notice that to!  I feel you pain....as some others said it is more frequent stops to unwind...most of the time I will switch threads to DMC colors for that reason!

I find that if I drop the needle in the back of the fabric every 10 or so stitch that it unwinds itself. Also you can use Thread Heaven on the floss to soften it up and maybe cut just shorter lengths as well. Hope that was helpful:)

There is a great product called Thread Heaven.  You just run the floss through it every time you start a new strand and its like magic!

I usually let my needle untwist after every other stitch, takes time and longer and can get a wee bit frustrating but it prevents the knotting x
