I was 7 - I went to a cross stitch club after school one hour a week - Im still in touch with the teacher who ran the club and taught me nearly 22 years later x

I started when I was in my teens, but gave it up for a lot of years because I didnt like many of the patterns available at the time. I re-started a couple of years ago as there seems to be a much better range of patterns now, with some young designers producing exciting stuff - I particularly like What Delilah Did, Emily Peacock and Jacqui Pearce. The internet also gives me access to American charts - Prairie Schooler, La-D-Da are enjoyable to stitch.

I was 19. Was off the stitch bug for around 5 years, but now back on :)

I learned to cross stitch when I was 10. But stop after that. Only picked up during these few years! :lol

I was probably 7 - 9 when I learned, then put it down for almost 20 years. Picked it back up in the last few months - Im turning 27 after the first of the year.

I did embroidery starting when I was about 11, but I didnt start cross stitching until I was 17.  I learned how from a magazine.

I was 10 years old, when I stitched my first pattern. But I wasnt interested in it. Now Im 21 and I "discovered" cross stitching again. I started stitiching again last year and its so much fun in making something pretty :)

I was 20 when I started. Ive just finished pre-med and had 8 months before med school started so I tried cross stitching. Finished summer queen by mirabilia during my second year of medical school then I stopped stitching until I was done with my residency. Started stitching again 3 years ago.
