Oh... I made friends with an owl in the park last year. He visited every night for a week while I was there.

Now Tawny Frog Mouths live in the park and theyre not afraid of me either.

But I think in the main part you are quite right- most owls try and live apart. Except the ones who use electric lights to lure prey.
