AW, thank you. he's not stuffed yet so you cant see the shape of him. He's been lying on my desk for a few weeks now, poor thing. I must finish him and I think the CAL has given me a buzz to get his head finished!!
Advice?.....dont be put off if your african flowers are wavy, stuffing will sort it out.
I prefer the join as you go, read the instructions/and pattern carefully and thoroughly. It can be fiddly though.
Remember the hippo is stuffed so you will need to crochet tight to avoid holes

Here is my hippo in progress. I used regia sock yarn and cream for rounds 4 and 5

I think the thing that is going to be a pain is sewing him together.

Comments

unfinished object? I think I´m trying the join as you go method too, because i hate sewing all the parts together^^  Post time 2013-11-1 20:04
Oh, It is not WIP, it should be UFO.  Post time 2013-11-1 16:15
I am using the joining-on-the-go method. This distributed the pain evenly. Otherwise I might have all motif crocheted and then have another WIP.  Post time 2013-11-1 16:14
I know! I'm going to practice both techniques to see what I like better. Woo it's gonna be a doozey!  Post time 2013-11-1 02:42

@quietone don't be too nervous! We are going to work through this together! I'm a little nervous to start this one...it's a very big project and I've never done anything like this. But we have a great support team here and quite a few people have already completed this design! Not to mention the pattern itself has many great tips and advice to complete this and we will! :D

I'm still undecided as to line and color, but I'm in!:loveliness:

Yes I'm waiting to see how many of us need the extra week to practice and color coordinate before I post the rest of the schedule. As it looks though we are going to have another week for this :)  Post time 2013-11-2 22:28

Yay sooo excited! Are you also going to need the extra week to plan the project? It's looking like most of us do. I need the info to plan the remainder of our stitch schedule. Thank you :)  Post time 2013-11-2 22:34
