The metallic is easy when you knot the thread at the eye of the needle to hold it securely. Makes everything so much easier. It also helps to use smaller strands and go slowly.

I've never hated French knots, even when they don't turn out right. I need to remember to hold the loops firmly while pulling the thread thru the fabric.

It all looks so pretty. The finished project will be something to see. Well done.

Yes, I actually use that method and it has saved me from having to buy Thread Heaven. If it's not for eyes, I can accept if my French knots don't turn out right, but for eyes? They've to be perfect.  Post time 2013-11-18 23:58
