using size 6 needle [4 mm ] this is just an example.
1. cast on 14 stitches [ example]
2 Now cast off these stitches and then fasten off. Leaving a tail.
now thread this tail threw a needle
Beginning of the opisit end of the threaded needle. begine rolling a tight ball.
now taking the treaded needl pas straight threw. Mover over a bit and do this again. do this a number of times until this button is secure enough so it wont undwind and that it lays flat.
when this is done take the needle with yarn to the center where your tail from the cast on is. then tie this two yarn ends into a square knot.
you can cut off one yarn end. Then use the other ends to sew the button onto your garment.
Now you will always have matching buttons
if you use one needle size smaller than what you used in your pattern you should have a perfect size button. :)
It is so pretty but my opinion is against the casting on and off. I like all knitting, but I like the casting on and I like the casting off not as much as all other knitting. This technique is just that! It is not for me, but I wish the technique for others. It is very cute for baby knitting. (However the buttons I like very much).
This is a conundrum i think!! Many worse in the world! At the very least, I learn.
Thank you for sharing and teaching!!
