See details below. |
This is a seamless sweater knitted from the top down. The yoke is shaped with raglan increases and the body is given structure with two asymmetric seams with a twisted stitch detail.
The drape at neckline and lower body is achieved with extensive use of short row shaping. This sweater is worked almost totally in st st kept interesting by the short row sequences that are worked througtout most of the body. The written instructions for the short row sequences are detailed and descriptive. You will need to give your full attention whilst working on them as there is a lot of counting. To help keep track of each sequence I suggest printing out the pattern and marking each sequence off as it is finished.

Tip from designer on yarn choice and ease:
I strongly suggest choosing a yarn with elasticity and body that will help to keep the structure of the fabric and short rows. 100% Merino works well because it has stretch and spring. Yarns with a lot of drape may drag the short rows out of shape. Ease should be 0-2” ease at bust. The shape can be lost if garment has too much ease at hips. I suggest 0 ease at hips.
Yarn quantities - choose either:
1. fingering - use single strand
1300 (1400,1500,1600,1700,1800) yds
1188(1280,1371,1463,1554,1645) m
2. lace weight - used double stranded
2300 (2400,2500,2600,2700,2800) yds
2103 (2194,2286,2377,2468,2560) m
