This idea circulates in the internet for years, so I have no idea whos it is, originally.
I cut out stars from sticky paper, stamped them onto jars, painted them with white acrylics (with a sponge), and then just removed the stars when the paint was dry. Also I used copper wire for handles, though they are almost totally decorative.
Also I got an idea to use my floating candles with these, 1) because I have a bag of them and dont know what to use them for, 2) I was afraid that normal candles will heat up the glass too much, because of their height. Also its a hassle to remove running paraffin from glass, but with water I dont have this problem. So, plusses on all sides )))

I use sand in the bottom of the jar and a tea-light in the sand;  the sand keeps the tea-light stable and the wax does not run out of the tea-light container - so no mess!
