WHY, oh WHY are we seeing prices of 750 gold coin for crochet patterns? This makes posting a bounty seem pointless if you give a reward of 1,000 gold coin. this is just GREED people. I thought this place was all about sharing??? 750 gold coin. There HAS to be a limit!!!!????????

Its a shame.   I noticed the one with the very high prices is from Russia.  I dont bother writing anything about her patterns and just skip over it.  Maybe if no one buys her patterns she will get the message.

I like the idea of a the cheaper of two duplicates being the one to stick around.

For the price of paying for it on her etsy or ravelry, or trying to earn the coin, Id rather pay cash to the designer.  Her patterns are extremely good value.
I expected the designer would charge more, but she has them set at reasonable prices.   One reason why I cant understand why someone would charge 100s of coin
for her patterns............unless they want to force us to purchase her patterns.
We all know there are other places too, to find free patterns.  So if someone really didnt want to spend the coin or cash............they can probably find it elsewhere for free on the Internet.

I agree! Prices are getting out of control - 400, 750? Really? This is supposed to be an educational sharing forum, not a place to sell patterns at insane prices. It is saddening to see this forum allow greed. I understand there is no fixed limit, however, there is an unspoken agreement on fair pricing respected by most members who post patterns. Can we please maintain reasonable prices so everyone can enjoy what this forum is all about?

It is an outrage, there are people who sell more expensive than the same pattern designers, is an outrage:Q:Q

Unfortunately, if some one wanted to undercut the price they wouldnt be able to because it would be considered a duplicate.
I think its gouging plain and simple; some people are greedy.
So dont buy it here, then perhaps those who charge such crazy prices will start dropping the prices to get more "sales".

Why not tell that person that their prices are way too high. Instead of not posting anything in the comments, post telling her that no one is going to "buy" the pattern at that ridiculous price and to lower it if she really wants to share. Perhaps she has a lot of patterns she wants to download and doesn have enough gold coins and figures this is a way to get the fast.

Remember .... its not worth getting upset over something that is basically free to you.

Ive written to her and told her she is charging a lot. I havent heard back from her and she continues to post at higher prices.  Post time 2016-10-21 01:31
I agree with this. Also, give the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the poster intended to charge 75 coins? We as moderators cannot adjust the coin charge, no matter how "excessive" it seems to be. Also,  Details Reply Post time 2016-10-17 01:58

I agree with this.

Also, give the benefit of the doubt. Maybe the poster intended to charge 75 coins? We as moderators cannot adjust the coin charge, no matter how "excessive" it seems to be.

Also, I do remember (before moderating) being in a rush one day and clicking an extra "0".  I never looked at it again until much later and was horrified. I only meant to charge 10 coins.

Im not saying this is the explanation; maybe the poster is actually asking that much but post a comment and perhaps s/he will respond.
