Thank you so much for this information.  I have always just started from the middle of fabric and stitched outwards. I wondered why I was seeing all of the grids on some of the fabric. It looks like it would same a lot of time because I have lost my place and had to re-stitch parts which was very annoying. Thanks again!

I grid too, but I use thread instead of a pencil.

Thank you for showing how it is done. I plan to tackle a bigger picture with a lot of color change and I think it will be best to make grid lines.

I used to stitch with just my two center lines till I discovered the grids. I however, only mark with dots where the lines meet. It really helps my stitching.
