Problems uploading PDF and jpegs UNDER 10MB

I ve been having problems uploading photos and patterns. Im trying to upload a 1.54 MB PDF (limit is 10MB) and get a message saying its over the limit. Its 8.46MB UNDER the maximum size. For photos, jpg, jpeg, gif, png are allowed. My photo is a 149 kb jpg but its not accepting it. Ive been uploading without a problem for a few months but lately Ive been having one problem after another. Is it me or are others experiencing the same problems?
