They could be searched listed in a new category "reduced" or "sale" after latest, hot, etc :D

Best of 2019 to you also - may be blessed with many, many more!
Ive been away almost a year because of my cancer surgery and chemo so much has changed and I just recently started uploading again.  I was so ticked off that I found a free pattern and posted it as FREE - no GC for me, theyll just have to pay the GC to the site.  I think people are certainly entitled to be "paid" for their effort but greed is never good and they dont seem to care.  I see lots of people who have already paid the 200 GC for one pattern.  I know one person who saw the 200 GC price, got so ticked off they just went to the designer and got it from them.  I am a patternaholic so I like to collect but I WONT pay 200 GC just to have it.  Im being very selective about what I download now (only if I think Ill really make it) and no more than 100 GC.  I think quantity of download over high cost few downloads is much more beneficial but apparently Im in the minority.

Its nice to see the overpriced knitting patterns are dropping off the "latest" search.

xcherubx Id like to see some change happen where the pattern cost can be changed, or someone could upload it for cheaper.  Its really a shame to see such high costs and know they forever will be that high, b/c it cant be changed.

That would be great to see cheaper uploads of the same pattern allowed or price changing by original uploader because it will only force people to look for them elsewhere.

Hi! I wanted to add something, although Im not a knitter (sadly, never learnt - maybe this year!) I frequent cross stitch patterns subforum. The situation with the prices is not as severe there, however I saw more than enough uploads where number of coins required to download raised my brow - it was simply silly to charge so much for incomplete patterns or patterns without thread numbers, only photos... cmon (which - Im almost certain - are from free promotional kits, send in mail by DMC, to give an example). I looked at the crocheting and knitting patterns, and the prices are scary. Also, whats with "read permit"?
Also, I think we missed the obvious (?) potential reason for spike in prices. The site allows members to use real money to buy GCs, so... I mean, I hope most of us knows its not the best idea, but Im sure there are people who would want a certain pattern "right now", and wont hesitated to use PayPal.

Im not a knitter either (and also wish I had learned!), but I know exactly what youre talking about!  Very recently several cross stitch magazines have been posted that are more than 20 years old, but cost 300 gold coins and there are 8-10 rars to download.  I know it isnt "real" gold or credits, but it does take time and effort to earn it.  Spending 300 gold coins and 300 credits on an ancient magazine?  No thanks.
