When choosing needles for stitching, consider the type of fabric and thread you’re using to find the best match. Sharper needles work well for tightly woven fabrics, while blunt or tapestry needles are better for loosely woven or delicate materials to avoid splitting threads. The needle size should be appropriate for your thread thickness—too large, and it’ll leave noticeable holes; too small, and it’ll be hard to pull through the fabric. Comfort is also important, so look for needles with a comfortable eye size and smooth finish to reduce hand strain. Having a variety of needle types and sizes on hand lets you switch easily depending on your project’s needs.

Very helpful.

I made a series of needlebooks, one for each type and size of needle. I cross stitched the sizes and type names on the back of the needlebook so I can always find the right needle for the right job

Wish I would have found this years ago.  It took me awhile to figure out I prefer petite tapestry needles in the smaller sizes.  Those are the kind that come with cross stitch kits and I love working with them.
