The best way to get Pin (also referred to as gold coins) is to upload patterns here www.pindiy.com/forum-268-1.html . Also you can reply in threads (one time per thread) to earn a little bit of coins (up to 10 pin per 1 minute)

The more patterns you share, the more pin/coins you can earn and the higher your level can become. Charge a reasonable amount for patterns, and more members are likely to purchase it.

To earn even more pins you should look through the bounty area www.pindiy.com/forum-21-1.html . This is where members post notices for patterns they are looking for, and they offer rewards (bounties) for whomever uploads the pattern they want. You can sometimes earn thousands of pins by fulfilling bounties. Make sure to check which language the bounty is for and any other criteria in the bounty post. Usually, if a language is not specified, the bounty is for the English version.

I am also new here, and I was told by several other users that one of the best ways to earn pins is to upload patterns. This way, you can keep earning pins without doing anything, as more users visit your post over time and rate/download the pattern. This helps you to earn pins.

I highly recommend trying the hourly tasks, there is one in there where you just have to verify your email and you get 999 pin for it. Very worthwhile.
