Best size for Aida cloth

Hello!

I bought five meters of a beautiful 9 ct Aida in linen color. It is 1.40 m (55 in) wide.
I want to cut it up into the most useful sizes (I also want to give away some to friends) but have no idea where to start since I am a beginner cross stitcher. I would like to know what is the usual way to keep your Aida cloth. Do you cut it per project?
Can you help me with suggestions, sizes, or a way to understand what works better?

It really depends on the types of xs patterns you prefer. For me, I would cut it as I needed it for a specific project.

Maybe ask your friends what sizes they might like a few pieces of, and then cut the rest as you want to use it for your specific projects

I always cut the aida cloth considering each project I'll work on.  Since I never used a 9-count, I don't know any projects that would require this count.  My suggestion is to keep it rolled up so it won't get deformed, and cut it according to a specific project; when giving some to friends, you could ask them the size they need.

Aida count 9 means 9 holes per inch, so it should be used for bigger projects. That means the bigger the cut, the better.

I would store the fabric rolled up to avoid unwanted creases and cut the fabric per project.

I cut it per project, but I also use the scraps for smaller projects.  They can be used for greetings cards or bookmarks, or accents on greeting cards/scrapbook pages.

This always depends on the size of the project, always leaving room on the sides. It is very variable.

I cut my fabric according to the next project i want to make.
So i first search for a nice pattern and than cut my fabric.
If you first cut your fabric you will always have not enough or to much fabric.
So better keep it on the roll and only cut of what you need.

Given that it is such a large count, I would definitely cut it into larger pieces. Most cross stitch patterns seem to call for either a 14, 16, or 18 count, so I'd recommend a fat half as a minimum cut.
