Don´t pre-cut the fabric.
Its better if you cut as you need! This way you don´t wast any fabric!

I think you should fine a pattern first, and then cut the fabric. But this is just an idea...

Aida 9 ct. is with too big crosses. For good looking project I use Aida 14 ct or Aida 16 ct. And I cut it as I needed it for a specific project.
