I use instant-espresso and crushed walnut pieces
and always a teaspoon salt,
always watching in the oven how it looks like
for antique look I dye the fabric again and again.

Onion (to obtain a brownish color)
Red cabbage (to obtain light blue color...it sounds magic ;P)

These are the two I tried so far...

I usually use the Deka batik color...the results are great,  and it's not so expensive (if I need to dye a big amount of linen, aida etc).

If I need to dye a small patch I usually do it with watercolor...with good results too

I use only natural product as tea. I have English fruit tea who are purple.

i started using RIT dye -- have done a couple pieces & have a big piece of fabby will dye later on  ---- the first piece i did I just used 1 color --like a tie dye effect came out nice --this piece i want like a marble effect of colors --not sure how it will turn out --
