Just another simple tidbit of information for newbies:
If you click on your name at the top of the screen you will go to your "Space"
There you will find all the threads you have posted along with other info. I didnt know about this for about 3 weeks... but Im not the smartest tool in the toolbox either but... again just a little helpful hint. There is also a drop down box at the top of the page where you can see this info also.. :)
BTW LOVE THIS HELPFUL HINTS PAGE ... LETS KEEP IT GOING AND THANK YOU WEEZIE WISH THIS HAD BEEN HERE EARLIER I WOULD HAVE LEARNED FASTER!!!!!! :)

Under your Avatar, where it says Threads, if you click that number that shows how many threads youve started, just above it, it will bring you to the same list of threads that @comboutgirl commented on in the thread above. Another useful thing on that page, at the top of the column where it says Topics/reply, -- if you click on Reply it will show every comment youve ever made. Its useful if youre trying to remember where that thread is you commented on yesterday and you cant find it anywhere in the list of titles, maybe you can find it easier by the comment you made, click on it and it will bring you back to that thread.

Are there any quicker ways to get to our own threads to check for recent comments? Clicking on the number below our avatar and Comboutgirls clicking on your avatar at the top of the page are the only ways I know.

Eight months here and I never knew that there was a list of replies next to the topics. I feel dopey.  Post time 2013-10-23 17:32
To see every comment you/someone else made in the past, hover on avatar, box pops up, click on the number showing next to "posts"... every comment will show on that and preceding pages, handy tool.   Post time 2013-10-22 07:09
Another way to your own threads, on the Home Page, way over on the right side click on "My Threads" -took me 3 months to find it... //www.pindiy.com/  Post time 2013-10-3 04:59
Thank you :) that is much easier ..... see how useful this page is??? :) hee hee!!  Post time 2013-9-27 03:42

wrong information:
unpack rars files will NOT work in this way,
you have to open all files together,
otherwise you get error messages

Comments

Depends on the type of file and "how" it was compressed and/or split. A long PDF archived and split will open differently than a group of jpegs in separate zips.  Post time 2013-9-28 10:25
All parts of the downloaded .rar files are together, then extracted together, I wrote these instructions step by step as I downloaded a new file, just to be sure I was explaining it correctly...  Post time 2013-9-27 19:31

** Tip for searching:

Since a lot of patterns are not named with their content (ie. Riolis 1234), its hard to find patterns on a certain subject sometimes. If you find one pattern with what you want, look at the first post right above the buttons at the bottom. There may be a category for "related collections", you can look at that collection and find related stuff, for instance there are several collections of "alphabets" if you need to find an alphabet. You can also click on the "collections" button at the top of the page, and search for a certain collection. For instance, I have added this thread to my "useful tips" collection, so anyone could look at that collection and find this thread.

Thanks for that tip, will have to keep that in mind  Details Reply Post time 2015-8-25 19:44
Funny you used Alphabets as an example --- I have a huge collection of Alphabets as well as Bookmarks, Cards, Ornaments and little pieces that could be made into any of these  Post time 2013-10-2 05:07

LEVEL UP INFO-
Heres the amount of points/money/credits you need to change to a new level

Level 1= 26
Level 2= 126
Level 3= 326
Level 4= 526
Level 5= 826
Level 6 = 1260
Level 7 = 2260
Level 8 = 5260
Level 9 = 12600

If you go to "Settings" at the top of the page and choose "user group" in the left column, it will show you the privileges for your level, how many points you need to earn for the next.

These points are earned by posting comments, daily visits etc.....
using this formula - (Total score=PostsX0.1+ThreadsX0.26+DigestsX5+Online Time (hours)/1.5 )

(my personal experience- I never posted a comment in the first month I was here, but spent time here anyway. I had started one thread. I started posting comments after I changed my name, when I was here a month, then made it to Level 2 in 6 weeks, posted my first pattern at 9 weeks and made level 3 at 11 weeks... so I was a "lurker" for a long time and still managed to hit Level 2. I still have only 15 patterns posted, and they dont sell for beans, so Id say its making comments and collecting my coins every hour using a timer that helps me the most.)

Comments

Is this formula still accurate? I am online for 8 hours a day, doing the hourly bonus regularly, but only go up by perhaps one "money credit" in a day. (I would expect more!)  Details Reply Post time 2014-2-7 03:12

Hope some more new tips are added, Ive been getting a lot of PMs saying this thread is helpful. Feel free to add any little tip youve discovered along the way.

***Yesterday Wise Owl taught me a new one, if you hover your mouse under your avatar where it says your Level (it will say Lv.1 for ex) it shows your current money/points and how much you need to get to the next level. If you click on that, it will take you to the page that shows the permissions for your level - theres lots of info there.

I guess I just dove right into the rar. files, lol. Being new here and not really knowing ANYTHING about diif file types these days, but turned out to be simple. Someone posted I had win already on my puter but I could not find it for the life of me so I downloaded another free one off the net, 7-zip file manager. It works like a charm! If your not sure about having a certain program like that, IMHO it never hurts to download a free one from a trusted site. You can always go back later and delete if and when you find you already have something installed that will work. At least you will have the experience of using it and getting some really cool patterns! :D
