Red sounds like a good idea!! I have gotten many great ideas I feel the need to try them all, see  ...

I ordered on Amazon. Search for cajun red fishing line. Get the 2 lb. Its the thinnest.

When someone visits this page from a link you share, you will be rewarded

Where does one buy fishing line outside of amazon? I checked but I don't need ridiculous amounts of the stuff! I was thinking maybe like a craft thread? Like not twine but maybe the same stuff that you can use for jewelry making? I've seen it before and I know it comes in different colors..but I don't need hundreds of yards. I just want to try it out!

I don't grid because it takes too long and I really don't trust using anything to mark on my fabric. I've seen people's projects where the markings are clearly visible through the stitching and I would be afraid it wouldn't come out.

I use sliver sulky metallic.
You can't pierce it with your needle and it pulls out easily when you finish stitching

I use a plastic thread that is bright red.  I grid 10x10.
I find for Heaven and Earth designs, gridding is a must.

I don't grid. I cross the done stitches on the printed-out design or its copy. And I never once worked on a project where gridding is necessary (yes, I think that for HAED or some such I might consider it, but I'd still try without first).
