what needle?

Im told the ones with the golden eye .... because they last longer than the plain needle. :)

Personally I prefer DMC brand needles. They glide right through and have never snagged anything. Some of my friends swear by goldplated needles, but I dont see the difference.

I really dont have a favorite brand. I use whatever my local craft shop has and never had problems with them.
