price of patterns

My personal opinion on the price issue is that while members are certainly free to price their patterns as they want, I can refuse to buy them if I think they are overpriced, which I do. Unless a pattern is really something special I dont get it if its priced too much over the norm. To me thats just being greedy. Too bad that there are always some who are willing to pay anyway, as it will only encourage people to go on. But while I agree that pricing every multipart file can be a bad idea, especially since the forum price hike raised all prices to 50 GC, people will be stupid and try to avoid paying by not downloading the one with the price.

I can remember the old times from other boards where pattern where about 5 coins or a bit higher - but those prices are ridiculous - and not everyone is willing to upload /for several reasons, but that´s not the point)

When you are new on the site, you dont have enough coins to purchase high priced patterns.  I would suggest that you not "out price" your patterns as there will not be as many purchases of a high priced pattern.

But unfortunately there are probably more members with large quantities of gold coins who can pretty much buy what they like.  People are greedy and becoming greedier - theyre beginning to charge more and more these days.  I believe there should be a cap on the amount people can ask - a reasonable amount - which would stop people for asking for 300 coins for a pattern. Quite frankly Id rather buy the chart myself!  Id never ask for any more than 20-50 coins depending on how big the chart was and how much Id paid for it.

Whe.n I post patterns, I will remember to have small amounts.  20 sounds good to me.  Most of the patterns I got were 30 and the it was 30 to download which is expensive enough

Yes, inflation has definitely hit pindiy. Most patterns I like are 100 - 300 coins so, I dont get them. Its a pity really, because They ARE cute patterns...just not THAT cute!  Ha ha ha!

I dont understand why the site charges 30 GC just to download, its not like theyre getting any actual money.  Im sure they have their reasons but for the life of me I cant figure out what they might be.  I try to stay around 50 GC but some are less.  I did charge 75 for a VERY popular pattern that some others were charging 100 for (it was a set of three patterns but you had to buy them individually which I did).  I absolutely refuse to pay more than 100 GC for any pattern, I think its just plain old greed to charge that much.  Most of the patterns Ive posted I bought and paid for (yes, some I found on the internet but many I bought) and I still wouldnt charge that much.
