I have always made the X way. And I crochet trough one loop not both, this way the left "loop'" will ...

Oh wow there's such a big difference. I like the back loops one. It looks cleaner

I use both ways. Personally prefer the "X" sc

Update... Though I'm team x-stitch, recently I had to make clothes for a softie and clothes turn out to be nicer with V-stitch.

I generally prefer the 'X' stitch but have found when I work with the really small threads to make mini/micro dolls it's easier on my hands to use 'V'

Personally i use the x for amigurumi as its tighter with my bad tension.!
