I use bobbins in 4 large plastic bobbin boxes, with 6 colors per section in the box, and when there's only 2 or 3 colors in that section I use spare plasic or card bobbins to stop them falling over, was a pain to wind all the floss at first but once you have it organised then it's easy to keep track of what you need to replace when the time comes and very easy to find your Color you need too
I use 4 organizer boxes that holds all the threads using bobbins in numerical order and put some extra needles too in the free sections. I always thought about making my own box but never seem to have the time to do so.
I use original plastic card from DMC http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Stitchbow-Plastic-Storage-Wallet__DMC-U1242L.aspx . For me it is only way, how to maintain order.
I use some cases made for storing nails and bolts, etc with clear drawers. I put a sticker with the thread number (or number family ex: 300's, 400's) on the front of the drawer. Maybe I have to search a little, but for me it's the easiest.
